Open Ropes: The first Saturday of each month is reserved for folks to come and experience our ropes course from the hours of 12:00-3:00 p.m. This is the perfect opportunity for families and friends to work cooperatively and learn important skills such as communication and build important character traits, such as trust. Friday Night at the Movies: The last Friday of each month is reserved for parents to drop off their children for Friday Night at the Movies from the hours of 5:00-8:00 p.m. This is the perfect opportunity for parents to grab some dinner while their children enjoy movies such as Ice Age 2 (May feature) and Charlotte's Web (June feature). FitPlex Special: Fitness assessment and personal training is available for students attending local schools at a nominal fee this spring and summer. Come by and visit with our Fitness Specialist who is a Nationally Certified Personal Trainer and get in the best shape of your life. Summer Camps: The countdown is on for our popular and successful summer camps! Some of the activities planned for this summer include fitness and sports skill development, beach days, ropes course, arts and crafts, gardening and field trips to Angel Stadium, Aquarium of the Pacific, Wild Rivers, Knott's Berry Farm, Soak City, Downtown Disney and Ice Chalet. The camps run weekly throughout the summer, beginning June 18 and ending August 31, and extended care is available. Be sure to look for the $25 off coupon sent home with your child. Sea Kayak Excursion: Explore the beautiful Palos Verdes coastline and Abalone Cove peninsula on this four-hour kayaking tour. Enjoy sea caves, rock gardens and wildlife. We will take a break at a beautiful beach where you will have time to eat, explore tidepools, swim and simply relax. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Kayaks, gear and instruction are all included. The excursions take place on either May 26 or June 23 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at $65 per person. Birthday Parties: Families and friends love to celebrate birthdays at AdventurePlex. With all of the invitations, decorations, catering and activities provided by our party staff, folks can sit back, relax and enjoy the day! Our Events Specialist is highly trained to make the day so special that your child will never forget their birthday adventure. Classes: AdventurePlex offers a variety of classes for children of all ages. Babies and toddlers can develop important physical, social and cognitive skills in the AdventureTots program. Junior Karate, Sports FUNdamentals and Rock Climbing are some of the classes that allow children to learn the basics of various activities. Classes sessions are quarterly, and information can be found in the Beach Cities Health District's Live Well Magazine.
