Dear Meadows Parents,

Welcome back to school! I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I am the new science specialist for Kindergarten through 4^th grade, working part-time in the science learning lab.

My background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from UC Berkeley as well as a Teaching Credential and Masters in Education from UCLA. In addition, I have been teaching science for the past 7 years. I am excited to be bringing my knowledge, experience and passion for teaching to Meadows.

This year at Meadows, our science program is proud to announce the opening of a new hands-on science lab. This new lab will provide an arena for your children to get involved with science as they never have before. The new science lab will make an enormous difference in helping your children understand the sciences in a safe, fun, creative, and memorable way.

All of this is made possible through the hard work and contributions from the PTA, the parents, and the local community. I want to thank each of you for your support in this worthwhile endeavor. I look forward to working with those of you who are able to assist me in the science lab to jointly enrich and expand the minds of your children.

The new science learning lab is designed for safety first and fun second. Please take a moment to read the safety contract with your child, sign and return it to me in the science folder provided. Your child will not be allowed to participate in the lab until the contract has been returned.
